The Real Thing

The Real Thing

Celebrating 40 years of their debut single 'You to Me Are Everything' reaching No.1 Multi-million selling soul band The Real Thing are ready to give their much loved disco inspired hits a new lease of life with an extensive UK tour. Featuring the group's three original vocalists Eddie Amoo, Chris Amoo and Dave Smith, along with their 5-piece band, the trio deliver a funky 'in your face' show with a strong 'retro flavour' with the band's classic songs mixed with contemporary grooves. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut hit single 'You to Me Are Everything', the Liverpool based trio boast three million selling hit singles including, 'Can't Get by Without You', 'Whenever You Want My Love' and 'Can You Feel the Force', making them the UK's best-selling black group of the late 70s. The band's iconic album '4 from 8' was released in 1977 and contained the 'L8 medley' which included the classic track 'Children of the Ghetto'. The song has since been covered by artists including Mary J Blige, Courtney Pine and Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind & Fire) and has been sampled by numerous hip hop artists as well as being featured in the Spike Lee movie, 'Clockers'. In 1986 'You to Me Are Everything', 'Can't Get by Without You' and 'Can You Feel the Force' were all remixed and became huge hits once again, thanks to their huge club following. In 2005, 'Love's Such a Wonderful Thing' was sampled by French dance outfit Daft Punk and re-titled 'So Much Love to Give'. The same year the Freeloaders had a UK Top 10 single with 'So Much Love to Give' which featured The Real Thing resulting in the band charting across 3 decades. The Real Thing recently released 'The Real Thing Live' DVD and CD recorded at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool and celebrates 40 years on the road and includes the concert in full, new material and a cover of The Beatles song 'Eleanor Rigby'. The band continue to tour up and down the country selling out venues including the Jazz Café, London and regularly perform at 70's & 80's festivals alongside such artists as Rick Astley, Boy George, Belinda Carlisle, Kool and the Gang and Chic. Commenting on The Real Thing's success, singer Chris Amoo said, 'There's always going to be a sense of nostalgia about our music. It's the sound track to so many people's lives and that will never die.' 40 years since 'You to me are everything' topped the charts. Still with original line up and celebrating with a UK Tour Looking to celebrate Christmas in style why not choose our VIP package which includes seats in the balcony, a welcome drink, 3 course meal pre show and private bar for the interval at the inclusive price of £49.50 per head - the perfect christmas treat.

Peter Pan

Peter Pan

Do you believe in fairies? We do – and so we’re thrilled to announce this year’s Christmas Pantomime, Peter Pan. The classic tale of the boy who refused to grow up is a perennial favourite and this Christmas will be given the Deco panto treatment as we present a swashbuckling spectacular for all the family. The star cast is to be announced, and there will be some fantastic opportunities for local young performers as we start the search for lost boys and pirates! Join Peter and Wendy and let your imagination fly as they travel to Neverland and do battle with the dastardly Captain Hook and the pirates. A sprinkle of fairy dust sees Peter take to the air in stunning flying sequences, and you can expect all the usual pantomime magic with plenty of audience participation, music and laughter. The original author of Peter Pan, J.M.Barrie, gifted the rights to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in 1929. This incredible gift means that for every pantomime ticket sold at The Deco, a percentage will go to this amazing charity. So it’s never too early to book your tickets for this awfully big adventure – from the minute the show starts we promise you’ll be hooked! Booking for a group? Contact the Box Office for the best rates and full availability.
